Never Why Me? Only What Now?

The story of Jennifer

I’ve not had a “typical” pregnancy. Twins the first round, collapsed lung the second. I’ve never been one to try and fit my life experiences into any one box…I just roll with what life has to offer. When diagnosed with LAM (lymphangioleiomyomatosis), even though at the time the doctors didn’t know much about the disease and therefore gave me false information regarding my life expectancy, I never thought of it as a death sentence. I feel lucky to belong to such a wonderfully supportive group of individuals willing to fight for their lives and the lives of those not yet diagnosed. My life is rare, I’m the only one that gets to live it…and thanks to everyone soldiering their way through rare disease, I can face each day optimistic.
