You are not alone. You are not worthless. That is my reminder to my fellow humans with rare diseases. I’m a 40 year old woman diagnosed as having narcolepsy with cataplexy. My diagnosis came almost 20 years after symptoms began and after a multitude of improper diagnoses – including stress. No current medication in the USA provides me relief from the symptoms. My hope is doctors, hospitals, researchers, and pharmaceutical companies will give more attention to treatments for people like me on the severe side of my rare and disabling condition.
