Hello My Name is Line I’m 8 years old and I have RTS (Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome) . I was diagnosed with RTS when I was 4 years old ,I think I’m a unique case in Algeria . Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome is a condition characterized by short stature, moderate to severe intellectual disability, distinctive facial features, and broad thumbs and first toes. Additional features of the disorder can include eye abnormalities, heart and kidney defects, dental problems, and obesity. These signs and symptoms vary among affected individuals. People with this condition have an increased risk of developing noncancerous and cancerous tumors, including certain kinds of brain tumors. Cancer of blood-forming tissue (leukemia) also occurs more frequently in people with Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome. I love life and I love smile to the others my parents tries to do the best for me but unfortunately there is no specialists and no special chools for RTS kiddos ,I have a lot of questions about my health but I can’t have answers in Algeria ,my parents tries to have an appointment in Cincinnati hospital in USA because they are worried about my health and my future it will be an opportunity for me to meet other RTS cases.
