The story of Tommy

I was born with osteogenesis Imperfecta. During my birth, I already had broken bones, and previous fractures when I was inside my mom’s stomach. During my childhood, I had countless fractures (approx 100+) along with many surgeries to help with that; I was diagnosed with Scoliosis around the age of 11, had surgery to help straighten the spine. I am wheelchair bound, hopefully, one day I will be able to walk.

Currently, I’m 21 years old, I began my fitness journey approx 1-2 years ago, I’m on a journey to become better, stronger and wiser – Showing people that no Disability can Stop you – You can overcome it, if you have the right mindset. Every day is a battle for me; I have to constantly endure muscle and joint pain along with being cautious of everything that I do and plan to do to prevent any type of bad situations; I do not want to have any more fractures.

Since my fitness journey, my strength, my body has became better – My fractures has reduced a lot – atleast 99%; I have not yet broken a bone since then. Osteogenesis Impefecta is a hard disease to battle but with the right mindset, being positive and embracing what you have, you’ll live happily.
