About NIHR Rare Diseases Translational Research Collaboration

The Rare Diseases Translational Research Collaboration (RD-TRC) was set up as part of the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) to support research programmes in a wide range of rare diseases – and in work ranging from patient identification and cohort building to ‘deep phenotyping’.

Our aim is to translate the outcomes of that research into the development of new, more effective therapies and real-life patient benefits.

If you’d like to take part in one of our studies, or to collaborate with the RD-TRC team, please get in touch.
