ACHSE e.V.     – Giving “rare” a voice

ACHSE – Rare Diseases Germany is the German Alliance for the estimated 4 Million people affected by a rare disease living in Germany. With its 130 patient organizations ACHSE represents their interests in policy and health care on a national and a European level. It provides information and aims to raise awareness in public. The ACHSE also is committed directly to those who are affected. It offers victims and relatives advice, it supports physicians in their search for a diagnosis and works to improve information on rare diseases.

ACHSE e.V. was funded in in 2004 to mutually support each other and bring the specific needs of the “rare” to public attention. Eva Luise Köhler, wife of the former President Prof. Dr. Horst Köhler has since been patron of the ACHSE.
