Description

Rare Disease Day is an international day that takes place on the last day of February each year. The day raises awareness of rare diseases and the importance of equity, diagnosis, treatments and inclusion.

Our in-person event will take place on Friday, 24 February, in The Malcolm Boyland Foyer, Joan Sutherland Performing Art Centre Centre (597 High St, Penrith NSW 2750). The centre is a five minute walk from Penrith train station and there is also Westfield and council car parking.

The event will be hosted by Carer Gateway | Wellways Australia and SWAN Australia.

Join us to hear from our community and various professionals working in the field of rare genetic conditions. Learn about the FREE services that carers can access through Carer Gateway and participate in our mindfulness session run for carers (after all guest speakers have spoken). And mingle with members of the rare disease community and carers over lunch. All attendees will enter our lucky door prize draw and will receive a self-care pack.
