SWAN Rare Disease Day Event – Brisbane

Hosted by Syndromes Without a Name (SWAN) Australia

28 February 2023
Level 1, 120 Chalk St, Lutwyche 4030, Brisbane, Australia

Description

SWAN Australia is the only not-for-profit charity supporting families caring for children with undiagnosed and rare genetic conditions, all of which are rare diseases.

Rare Disease Day is an international day that takes place on the last day of February each year. The day raises awareness of rare diseases and the importance of equity, diagnosis, treatments and inclusion. We warmly invite SWAN parents, family members and carers to attend our Rare Disease Day event. Professionals and students with an interest in supporting SWAN families may also benefit from attending. As the day is about rare disease awareness, we welcome anyone with an interest in learning more about rare diseases and the impact they have on children and their families.

Our in-person morning tea event will take place on Tuesday, 28 February from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM at Carers Queensland Corporate Office. The conference room is based on Level 1 of Lutwyche City Shopping Centre (120 Chalk St, Lutwyche 4030). There is 3 hours of free parking in the shopping centre carpark.

The event will be hosted by Rod O’Donohue, one of our SWAN Board members. There will be presentations by representatives from Carers QLD, Wellways, the NDIS and SWAN.

There will be opportunities to mingle and ask questions over morning tea.

Please register via eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/rare-disease-day-2023-brisbane-tickets-491466257807

This is a free event, proudly supported by Carers QLD. Unfortunately, SWAN Australia receives no ongoing government or philanthropic support, so all donations through our website are greatly appreciated: https://peer-support-and-information-service.raisely.com/

We look forward to seeing you there!
