Rare Disease Day is held annually on the last day of February, it is celebrated to boost awareness among the general public and health professionals. At AKU, we are very proud to have been the flag bearer of Rare Disease Day in Pakistan for the past 6 years. We look forward to Your Support for Rare Diseases campaign, and need everyone to get involved and join the movement to reframe rare! This time we aim to double our efforts: re-think, re-envision, and reimagine rare diseases as an educationist, clinician, and researcher.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in collaboration with Department of Pediatrics is planning a ‘Launch of Newborn Screening Program for Selected Inherited Metabolic Disorders’ on World Rare Disease Day we invite you all to come forward and get involved on the 23rd of Feb 2023. On a giant canvas, you will be asked to dip your hands in paint and make hand-prints to show your support for rare diseases
