There’s Always Hope in Tomorrow!

The story of Hope

Hello, my name is Hope Venable and I’m a 51 year old rare disease survivor. In 1985, I had pheochromocytoma, tumors on my adrenal glands. Years later in 2009, I was diagnosed with neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer. It had begun to metastasize to my liver. The underlying cause of these cancers is my rare disease, Von Hippel Lindau syndrome. In 1985, I had a bilateral resection of my adrenal glands. In 2012, I underwent a Whipple procedure to remove the pancreatic tumor. I am currently fighting metastatic liver cancer. The monthly cancer treatment has caused diabetes and other complications. I am a survivor!
