My Daughter’s Story

The story of Pennie

At 24 years old my daughter had a hip replacement. Months later she needed hip revision surgery.
6 days after the revision surgery her right leg was paralysed and she was taken back to theatre.
What they found was devastating her sciatic nerve was crushed by adhesions and adhered to her pelvic bone in 2 areas.
They released the sciatic nerve but it was permanently damaged which killed 2 nerves in her lower leg. This was the start of the CRPS eventhough she has had a below knee amputation so she could walk again the CRPS remains as you can’t amputate from the pelvis which is where the sciatic nerve is damaged.
This CRPS affects every aspect of my daughter’s life she is in pain constantly. We try to hold onto hope for her.
