The story of Marie
My beautiful daughter Kalani Grace was diagnosed with a rare disease at 20 weeks during my sonogram check up. I went for my sono to find out the gender of my baby but instead I received devasting news that my daughter has a massive benign tumor called a CCAM. It was devasting , I broke down in tears at the hospital . I never heard of this rare disease and this was my first child. The doctors and told me that the tumor will not stop growing until 32 weeks, I still had 3 months to go. I had to see a specialist and also see a cardiologist because the tumor was so massive that it was shifting my baby’s heart. It was taking up half of her left lung, it happens 1 out of 30,000 babies and if not removed it can turn cancerous. There was a chance that my baby wouldn’t make it and was asked if I wanted to terminate my pregnancy. She had her surgery at 9 months. It was a 5 hr procedure. She’s thriving now and isn’t on any medication. She is my brave warrior!!
