Living with Idiopathic Subglottic Stenosis

The story of Brenda

After years of being short of breath and being misdiagnosed as has having asthma, I learned I had Subglottic stenosis. It is a narrowing of the windpipe below my vocal cords. I had 3 tracheal dilation surgeries before undergoing a tracheal resection in 2013. I blogged about my entire journey. You can read it by doing a google search for “fix my subglottic stenosis”.

Laser surgeries and dilations are temporary short term fixes. There is a cure- resection. It gave me my life back and I can breathe again!
