The story of Landon

I was 27 weeks pregnant when my MFM confirmed our son would be born with congenital diaphragmatic hernia. He had right sided CDH, with liver and intestines up. Since it was 2020, I was alone when my doctor told me, “Your son will not live past the birth. If he does survive the birth, he will pass shortly after. You will be allowed to hold him as he passes, we will make him comfortable, but that’s all we can do.”

I left that room in a ball of tears.

We relocated to a hospital that was willing to fight for him. After he was born, he was placed on ECMO. His repair required a GORE-tex patch. He has survived, and more than that, he has thrived. He is wild, and CDH has not held him back!
