Just an ordinary teenage girl, with a rare bone disease

The story of Jessica

When I was 10 years old I was playing basketball, I was point guard so I was bringing the ball up the court and without being touched I just fell to floor and I was in so much pain. My mom always has been tough on me, so she sent me to school the next day without taking me to get it checked out, assuming it was just a pulled muscle but my gym teacher sent me home saying it was serious. I later went to the doctor, got MRIs and x-rays and was sent to UofM Annarbor hospital. An orthopedic specialist checked me out and diagnosed me with a rare bone disease, fibrous Dysplasia, and mccune Albright. She told me I was walking on a fractured femur and that most people only have it in 1-2 bones, but I have it in 5. I had titanium rods put in both of my femurs, and now, 6 years later I am having 4 more surgeries, replacing the rods. I also will be going to Maryland to get a treatment
