I am not my disease, I am Ellie

The story of Ellie

I am Ellie and I am 16. I was diagnosed with IPH (Idiopathic Pulmonary Hemosiderosis) when I was 12.

IPH causes bleeding of the lungs and difficulting breathing. I am Immuno comprimised and sometimes I need blood transfusions.

Although I have IPH and spend time in Hospital and appointments it is not who I am. I am Ellie, I am a friend, I am family, I am laughter. I love to play netball. Some times I have been in hospital the day before a netball game! IPH does not define me.

I also have a brother who like me, has a one in a million disease.
The chances of having 2 children with different rare diseases is 2 in 2 million. The odds of winning the lottery are higher!
My parents are waiting for that day!
