Desmoid tumor

The story of Molly

I was diagnosed with Desmoid in 2012, a rare fibrous tumor. It is inoperable as per experts. Started on oral chemo for an year with couple of meds. The tumor kept growing and I almost lost the function of my left arm. Last year under went IV chemo 5 cycles with no effect on the tumor. After chemo I started with radiation treatment for a month. The tumor finally started shrinking! Pain has decreased and some movement of my arm is returned. My family and friends, my wonderful Boss and collegues at work supported me . My faith in God kept me going strong. It is quite an experience for an RN who works in the ER for last two decades .It gave me a in depth understanding of the struggle my patients and family under go on a daily basis and I learnt to count my blessings!
