Aplastic Anemia Warrior

The story of Katherine

In 2018 our 14 year old daughter Olivia was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia. Out of no where her bone marrow had started to fail, it was no longer producing red cells, white cells and platelets. Olivia quickly became transfusion dependent. Her life was turned upside down when her volleyball practices were replaced with clinic appointments. The only cure for this disease is a bone marrow transplant and to this day Olivia is still without a matched donor. She has received immunosuppressive treatment and medication that keeps her mostly transfusion independent. She has faced so many challenges and serious infections while battling this disease. Olivia is the strongest person we know and if anyone can beat this disease she can. We continue to pray for a matched bone marrow donor. Text FOROLIVIA to 61474 to register to save someone’s life.
