About Chinese Organization for Rare Disorders


Chinese Organization for Rare Disorders (CORD), founded by Kevin HUANG in 2013, is a non-profit organization specializing in fields of rare diseases. CORD serves as a hub for the rare disease communities in China , and till now, with our help, over 100 patient organizations have been established and covered over 60,000 families. We currently have 4 regional offices , located in Beijing, Zhejiang, Hunan, and Fujian. It is committed to enhancing public understanding of rare diseases, improving patients’ access to orphan drugs, fostering formulation of rare disease policies, and initiating international exchange and cooperation.

CORD has built the most comprehensive information platform in China on rare diseases integrating internet and social media with more than 60,000 followers.

Started in 2012, CORD initiated and organizes every year the most influential and largest rare disease conference in China – China Rare Disease Summit.
