Patient organisations in Thailand first became involved in Rare Disease Day in 2011. Since then, they’ve used the occasion to host an annual public gathering in the centre of Bangkok, which attracts over 300 people annually. In 2017 there was a “Run for Rare” charity run at Chatuchak Park in Bangkok followed by a patient group meeting.

To mark Rare Disease Day 2018, Thailand held an event at a hospital with the aim of sheading a new light on Rare Disease Day.
