Rare Disease Day in Morocco
Rare Disease Day was first celebrated in Morocco in 2011. Since then, participants have organised marathons, fairs and open days to raise awareness for rare diseases. In 2017 the second “Day of Play” was organised. It was set up to help integrate children living with rare diseases into theatre, music and sports whilst also raising awareness of the existence of rare diseases with the public.
In 2018, Rare Disease Day was marked with a scientific conference which focused particularly on clinical trials and introduced patients and their families to therapeutic issues and the ethical issues involved in clinical trials.
