Luxembourg has celebrated Rare Disease Day since its debut in 2008, with events ranging from fundraising evenings to dedicated conferences for stakeholders in the rare disease community and an annual quiz night. In 2017, in City Concorde, those living with a rare disease partook in a flash-mob to celebrate the day.

For Rare Disease Day 2020 Luxembourg hosted its annual presentation of the National Plan for Rare Diseases. In addition the ALAN held the fifth edition of its Quiz night including questions on trivia, science and rare diseases.
