Lebanon first participated in Rare Disease Day in 2013. Since then, patient organisations have used the day to mobilise the media to raise awareness about rare diseases in the country. For the last 4 years a ‘Family Fun Day’ has been held to celebrate the day and raise awareness for those with rare diseases.
To mark Rare Disease Day 2020 Lebanon hosted a family day including presentations on support and treatment. A range of entertainment took place at the event such as drawing and painting aiming to spread awareness.
