Rare Disease Day in Kenya
Patient organisations in Kenya first joined Rare Disease Day in 2014. In previous years, people in Kenya have raised awareness through talk shows and newspaper features, among other things.
In 2018 a children’s hospital held an event to bring together various stakeholders in the rare community to see how they could better improve the quality of life of people living with a rare disease in Kenya. People also raised awareness through talks and games with university students and they raised and joined their hands to show their support for people living with a rare disease. They also made a video of patient testimonies to raise awareness.
