Rare Disease Day in Denmark
Organisations in Denmark have participated in Rare Disease Day since 2008, with large-scale celebrations in 2008, 2012 and 2016. In 2016, the Danish Alliance Rare Diseases Denmark arranged a Rare Race and a Rare March in the biggest cities in Denmark and a rare exhibition outside the Danish Parliament. The Rare Prize was awarded to two individuals for their outstanding contributions to the rare disease community in Denmark.
In 2017, 2018 and 2019 Denmark has celebrated Rare Disease Day in Aarhus, Denmark’s second largest city. People living with a rare disease gathered with family and friends to play board games and spend an enjoyable afternoon raising funds for the national alliance.
