Rare Disease Day in Brazil
Brazil first participated in Rare Disease Day in 2010. Over the years, celebrations have extended throughout the entire week leading up to Rare Disease Day to raise support and awareness for rare disease patients. Highlights have included the March for Rare Diseases and the airing of a television documentary on rare diseases.
In 2017 events took place all around the country, from a race in Rio Grande to an awareness-raising march in Rio de Janeiro, to university seminars and events offering glucose tests, bone marrow donor registration and even Zumba classes!
