Rare Disease Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina
2017 marked the ninth year that patient organisations in Bosnia and Herzegovina have participated in Rare Disease Day. Events have ranged from television debates and public marches to awareness programmes in schools. There has also been a collection of toys and school supplies for children living with rare diseases, emphasising the importance of human contact, as well as political and awareness raising events. Celebrations have received support from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. In 2017, a campaign collected messages of hope through social media, which were then pasted onto a Tree of Good Hope in the public Children’s Square in Sarajevo.
