Georgia first became involved with Rare Disease Day in 2010. Over the years, rare disease conferences have been planned to coincide with the day, and the former First Lady of Georgia, Sandra Elisabeth Roelofs, has been extremely active in her support for the campaign.
Georgia celebrated its 10th Rare Disease Day with a press conference in Tbilisi for all stakeholders to reflect on the events that took place in 2019 and to identify and announce prospective activities for the coming year.Â
