The story of Urska

My name is Urska Firer and I come from Slovenia. I will turn 40 in June. I worked as event maneger in tourism. I am also a mother to my 4 year old son Tin Mark. He is my biggest motivator. Three years ago, I was diagnosed with Disemminated plasmocytoma before that I was completly healty. I had severe neck and head pains for half a year. When I did the second MRI, it showed a tumor on the cervical vertebra C2. Surgery immediately followed as my life was in great danger. They inserted six screws and a net that now connects my head to my neck. The operation was followed by radiation, chemotherapy and finally autologous stem cell transplantation. During these two years, I learned a lot of truths about what is important in life, how I can stay happy despite my illness, and how important faith in myself and a positive attitude are. My response to every situation is »it is all good« because even it isn’t, it will be!
