The story of Linda
In March of 2021 my husband and I found out we were expecting. We were beyond excited to start our journey as first time parents. We found out we were having a baby boy. Immediately after finding out the gender i chose his name, Benjamin Rey (Rey means king in Spanish). He was born November 06, 2021. He had a very rough start and spent 23 days in the NICU. Where he had about 6 blood transfusions and many other tests. We brought him home for one week and then he was again admitted to the NICU. Hematology decided to do a bone marrow biopsy on him where we later discovered his diagnosis Diamond Blackfan Anemia. Benjamin has now had about 15 blood transfusions and will continue to have them for the rest of this year. We will then trial steroids. At such a young age he started fighting for his life. He’s our miracle baby and also one of many warriors.
