I’d rather have hope than sadness

The story of Andy

My daughter, Beth was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome in 2002. At that point there was no pathway to treatments or a cure. That changed in 2007 when Rett was reversed in the lab. Two years later I co founded Reverse Rett and now we stand at the edge of a cure with gene therapy clinical trials due to start in 2022. It’s been a long journey but we are getting close. The famous quote ‘it’s the hope that kills you’ is wrong for me, having no hope was much worse.
