The Advocacy of Neuroacanthocytosis Patients is please to host a museum tour on 29 February 2020 at the V & A Museum in London between 3 pm and 4 pm.
The tour will raise awareness of Rare Disease Day and Neuroacanthocytosis (NA), a group of rare disorders marked by progressive muscle weakness and atrophy, progressive cognitive loss, chorea (involuntary twisting movements of the body) and acanthocytes (spikey red blood cells). Your attendance will support the NA Advocacy's work of funding research.
The tour, entitled “Red, Scarlet and Crimson, The History of Colour in Art”, will delve into the colour red and explore a wide range of topics including its use in the silks of Tudor England and Renaissance Florence, rubies and spinels in Mughal jewels, medieval stained glass, Indian cottons, Islamic carpets and Chinese art.
