The UAE Rare Disease Society celebrates Rare disease day 2021 with a variety of events.
1. An online webinar on 24.02.2021 directed to young adults in the community to raise awareness on rare diseases in the community presented by Dr. Noura Al Dhaheri a Clinical and metabolic geneticist for UAE University.
2. An public online event on 26.02.2021 including children and their families who live with rare disease. It included a series of talks by experts from the ministry of education and community development in addition to social services. The event also encompassed honoring active patients and their familes by awarding them. We also organized a competition for children to present their art and talent highlighting rare disease.Â
3. An online Rare disease Showcase organized by the UAE rare disease society and the UAE University which sheds light on the activities ongoing to improve diagnostics and research in the field of rare disese.
4. Hazza bin Zayed Stadium and Dubai Frame lit with the colors of Rare disease day in celebration of this day.
