Over 300 million people are living with a rare disease worldwide. Rare diseases are currently affecting 3.5% – 5.9% of the worldwide population. In Australia, sickle cell disease is considered a rare disease.

28th February 2021 is International Rare Disease Day. This year we have Partnered with Sam Humphrey to bring you an event to raise awareness about some of the Rare Diseases in Australia.

We have brought together six individual all living with a rare disease in Australia. They will share their experiences on the effects of living with a rare disease. Challenges with everyday day life including treatment options will be discussed. A discussion on the mental health management will also be discussed.
