The celebration of 11th Rare Disease Day Thailand is scheduled on Sunday, 28th February 2021, from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Centra by Centara Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre Chaeng Wattana, Bangkok. The full day event aims to raise awareness of rare diseases, find alliances between government and private sector for caring of patients with rare diseases under the theme of “Rare is many, Rare is strong, Rare is proud.”

This year is special, given this event is hosted by Thai Rare Disease foundation and the government, National Health Security Office and the Ministry of Public Health. We expect to have 100 participants joining on-site for this event.

“Rare Talk” in the morning session by renowned speakers from Thailand and abroad will address interesting issues in rare diseases, for example, patient registry, regulatory pathway and registration for rare and complex treatment, improving the access to treatment, and empowering patients and their families. This session will be broadcast online through Facebook Live. 

The afternoon workshop “World Café Workshop” aims to discuss and find the solution about 3 main topics of 1) Access to medicines & regulatory pathway, 2) Data registry, and 3) Alternative financing. All invited participants are representatives of patients &families, experts, multi-stakeholders, and private sectors such as pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies.
