There are more than 7,000 different rare diseases, collectively affecting more than 350 million people around the world. Given their rarity, these conditions are difficult to diagnose and treat. Patients can endure a long journey involving specialty doctors, tests, and misdiagnoses and extremely costly treatments. Rare Disease Day always takes place on the last day of February, ie 28th February, a month known for having a 'rare' number of days. This day provides an important opportunity to shed light on the impact that these frequently debilitating diseases have on patients and their families.
Considering this, Sanofi in collaboration with TerraBiz and BondPR is hosting a webinar on Friday, 5th March, in the form of a Panel Discussion. The objective of the webinar is to get key Government officials, Healthcare Professionals and Researchers of Pakistan on board to highlight the issues around rare diseases in Pakistan & the need for a Government policy and budgetary allocations for the rare disease sector.
