Cousin marriages are one of the leading causes of rare genetic disorders in Pkhyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan population. Over the past 15 years of our experience in Rare Genetic Research we have found that Pakistan has higher frequency of these diseases. You might have seen people with difficulties in learning, vision, hearing or speaking, walking are all genetic and most of them have no cure, and you might have observed they are born to couple who belong to same tribe. Most of the time there more than two are three affected in each family which all always difficult for the families to cope with.
To reduce these in our future generations, we need to perform genetic testing of the affected individuals, educate the family about their genetics and guide them how to avoid the disease recurrence in future generations.
To know all about these facts, spare time with us on Rare Disease Awareness Booth from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (February 24-28, 2020)
