We are going to have 2 event for Rare Disease Day 2021
1. “Illuminates Building For Indonesia’s Rare Disease Day 2021”
The MPS Foundation and Rare Diseases Indonesia is a non-profit organization that houses more than 100 children with rare disease in indonesia. we have held a series of events commemorating World Rare Disease Day to raise awareness that rare diseases in Indonesia can be diagnosed and managed. However, the pandemic that has occurred since the beginning of 2020 is still ongoing, so the implementation of the 2021 Rare Disease Day celebration seems unlikely to be carried out in a mass manner. Therefore, we intend to keep celebrating World Rare Disease Day in another form so that we submit a request to the Governor of Special Capital District of Jakarta to allow us to commemorate World Rare Disease Day through “Illuminate Buildings”, which illuminates the National Monument or another Jakarta’s Iconic landmark with colored lights typical of disease. rare (blue, pink, green, and purple) for 1 week on February 22-28 2021.
This activity was initiated by the world rare disease organization, EURORDIS (rarediseaseday.org) and has been implemented in more than 14 other countries and has involved more than 60 national monuments in various countries, such as the Colosseum and the Tower of Pisa in Italy, the Empire State Building in the United States., and Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emirates. We hope that the Monas Monument (Monas) or another Jakarta’s Iconic landmark can record history and become one of the national monuments around the world
