Rare Disease Day in Philippines
In the Philippines, awareness raising activities around Rare Disease Day began in 2010. Now, the country celebrates with various events all week long. Celebrations in the past have included forums and workshops, photo shoots and press conferences. In 2015, the second annual "Wear that you Care" event encouraged people to wear jeans and a denim ribbon in support of those with rare diseases. There was also a benefit concert, a fundraising run, and a nation-wide media awareness campaign led by government representatives, private institutions and NGOs.
