Rare Disease Day in Peru

Rare Disease Day in Peru is organised by Federacion Peruana de Enfermedades Raras (FEPER) in conjunction with the Ministry of Health, members of the Peruvian Congress and other institutions involved in improving the management of these diseases. In 2016 our moto is "The patients voice" to stress the important role of patients and to express their needs in order to promote a better quality of life for patients, families and care takers.

Join us in making the voice of rare diseases heard . Join us to:

·  Make sure politicians  recognize rare diseases as a public health priority

·   Achieve equal access to quality care and treatments at national level. Improve diagnosis

·  Support the development and implementation of national plans and policies in favor or rare disease patients

·  Help mitigate the isolation suffered by many rare disease patients and their families

For the past two years, FEPER has been working with the Ministry of Health, represented by Dr Luz Loo to adopt and implement the Law that declares rare diseases as a national priority , deserving special attention. This will entail a multidisciplinary and integrated approach and equal access to care and treatments, as well as the 'humanisation' of health and social services and  respect of people living with a rare disease.
