Rare Disease Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina
2015 marked the seventh year that patient organisations in Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in Rare Disease Day. Events have ranged from television debates and public marches to awareness programmes in schools. There was also a collection of toys and school supplies for children living with rare diseases, emphasising the importance of human contact, as well as political and awareness raising events. Celebrations have received support from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. In 2015, members of the public signed a declaration in support of those with rare diseases in the heart of Sarajevo. Along with each signature, participants stamped their palms, fitting with the year's theme Hand-in-hand, day-by-day.
