The touring exhibition "Betrachtungsweisen", which means "points of view" is organised by BKMF e.V., the German association of short-statured people and their families. The exhibition is illustrating health and social challenges of people with restricted growth. In Germany there are some 100.000 affected people, that is they either are, or will be as adults, between 70 cm and 150 cm tall. Februrary 27th of 2010 the BKMF e.V. will offer a space for other patient organisations of rare diseases. So they can join forces to raise awareness for people with rare diseases all together on this day.

Rarely difficult? Do people with rare diseases need a special health care? Orphanet Germany will organise a "rare disease day symposium" on the 26.th of february in the medical school hannover (MHH). Representatives from the german associations listed in Orphanet and also researcher and clinicans from the MHH have been invited to attend. All parties will have time to present different aspects of their work and their perception of the rare disease topic. Additionally there will be place for poster presentation and information stands. Over 30 patient groups will participate by giving talks and/or presenting information material. About 110 people have registered already.
