Rare Disease Day 2010

February 28

GERMANY

Together we are strong: 10 German cities are celebrating the Rare Disease Day 2010

In Berlin, Bielefeld, Dresden, Essen, Hamburg, Hannover, Cologne, Magdeburg, Stuttgart, Würzburg people from different patient organisations of rare diseases teamed up to organize different events. They use the day to raise awareness, to inform public about the problems and needs of people living with rare diseases.

As last year all events have one same element: in all these places hundreds of red  ACHSE-ballons will be released to rise into to sky. This picture shall recure everyyear again to become the memorable symbol of the Rare Disease Day in Germany.

Apart from these awareness events the Eva Luise and Horst Köhler foundation for people with rare dieseases in cooperation with ACHSE will award another time the Eva-Luise-Köhler-Forschungspreis for a research project.
