ROMANIA
Romanian National Alliance for Rare Disease
The goal of the RONARD project, created by the Romanian Prader Willi Association (RPWA), is to increase the awareness of the community on rare diseases through consensus building between different stakeholders involved in this field (patients, professionals, social workers, etc).
RONARD was legally established as an NGO with 32 founding members including: organizations for rare disease patients, an organization for professionals – Romanian Society for Human Medical Genetics, and individuals with diseases so rare that no patient organizations currently exist for them. RONARD unites organizations and individuals who share a common goal of increasing the quality of life for patients with rare diseases through advocating for increased recognition, treatment, research, diagnostic opportunities, rehabilitation services and acceptance from local, national, and European levels.
